Proposition 8 would eliminate the right of Same-Sex Couples to marry. It changes the California Constitution so that only marriage between a man and a woman is valid in California. On Proposition 8, are you … Certain to vote yes? Certain to vote no? Or not certain?
Yes 48%
No 45%

Thankfully most of the undecides are from demographic groups more likely to vote no on this.
Ballot measures in CA if they don’t have bigger support than this, especially if this is the high water mark.
Its hard to watch the commercials that lie, and drive up and down your neighborhood and see Yes on 8! signs. Its hard to imagine that if i walked up to these people that they would be willing to say to my face that they think that they have the right to pass a ballot measure that would discriminate against me, or that they are for discrimination. It just frustrates me. Fortunately, the No on 8 people have finally got off their asses and started mailing out stickers and signs. So you’re starting to see more and more of them around the city.
I’ve just been trying to convince everyone I know to talk about this to friends and family, and convince them that discrimination in all is forms are wrong.

That is a very big drop-off in support for parental consent. Very good news. Hopefully this one and the gay marriage ban both fail.
that you could amend the constitution by simple majority vote?
The initiative was really the most stupid “progressive” reform of the 20th century. Alongside the recall, of course.
with LGBT rights is that many Democratic voters oppose it.
In from New York City and some of the most anti-gay people I’ve ever met back there were Democratic-voting minorities from places like Brooklyn and The Bronx.
I was just looking at the information on the Survery USA cross tabs… That information looks really, REALLY bad… Except that rate for African Americans support is probably about right. I just do not see people aged 50-64 being more supportive of gay marriage (4%) than voters 18-34 (2%) and yet the group in between 35-49 being (-1)… These numbers just do not sit right with me. I also doubt very much that ONLY 55% of the Bay Area is voting against this. I call Shenanigans on this poll. I have a feeling it is similiar to that which has been occuring in the presidential race. Young voters and more affluant voters are less likely to have land-lines. This poll actually gives me the first hope in weeks that Prop 8 is going to fail. Not saying that it won’t pass, just that it has actually given me some hope agian.
Thanks Chad!
